100 Ways To Take Better Black and White Photographs
by Michael Milton

I bought this book a long time ago when I wanted to learn more about black and white photography. This is a simple book and, as the name suggests, writes about 100 ways to take better black and white. These 100 ways are divided into 10 sections:
– Introduction
– Camera technique
– Lenses and accesories
– Composition
– Understanding light
– Landscape
– Abstracts and Still Life
– Architecture
– People
– Travel

When I read it I found that the 100 ways can actually be applied to both colour as well as black and white and sometimes the suggested ways are very, very basic. Great for the novice and the beginner but no so great for the more advance photographer who is looking for technique rather than description. Each way has a picture illustrating the description which is then accompanied by a narrative on the description. I refer to this book once in awhile to get ideas on subject matter but not for technique.
