I had a chance to take photos of a capoeira roda last night. I didn’t want to take ‘clinical’ shots and preferred to have a lot of blurred motion so I had the camera on a slow 1/25 and the speedlite at rear curtain sync. Flash was on camera and the exposure was set on manual. The ISO was set on a high ISO 1600 to ensure enough level of the background crowd detail is captured. I like this image as the intensity of the capoeirist’s face combined with both his movement and the crowd in the background does give a the viewer the experience of the high energy involved.
